Kano gov woos Kannywood to promote Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has called for stronger collaboration with Kannywood and other creative industry players to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and his Kano First Agenda.

Yusuf made the call when he received members of Tripple for Renewed Hope at the Coronation Hall in Kano.

The governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.

Yusuf said his administration recognised the creative sector as an important driver of youth empowerment, employment and cultural development.

He said, “The creative industry remains an important avenue for youth empowerment, job creation and the promotion of Kano’s rich cultural heritage.”

He pledged to create a more supportive environment for singers, filmmakers, actors and other creative professionals to develop their talents and become economically self-reliant.

Yusuf also urged Kannywood practitioners to use their platforms to promote peace, unity and development while projecting a positive image of Kano.

He assured members of the industry that the government would strengthen its partnership with them and back initiatives capable of creating sustainable opportunities in the creative sector.

Speaking during the engagement, Hausa singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara praised the governor, describing him as a patient and hardworking leader committed to transforming the state.

Rarara also commended Yusuf for recognising the contribution of Kannywood and other creative professionals to Kano’s development.

The Kano State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Umar Haruna Doguwa, expressed confidence that the party would win the 2027 general elections.

Doguwa said the APC remained committed to a peaceful electoral process.

“The APC is committed to ensuring a peaceful, credible and hitch-free election,” he said.

He urged party members and supporters to remain united and focused on the achievements of APC-led administrations in Kano and at the federal level.

The engagement underscored the state government’s intention to deepen its relationship with the creative sector as part of its efforts to drive economic empowerment, cultural development and the Kano First Agenda.
